Financial Analyst - Corporate

Job Purpose:

To support the commission process by performing core tasks essential for accurate and timely processing and reconciliation of inbound and outbound commission payments. Contribute to annual planning and forecasting efforts, including variance analysis. Enhance visibility for corporate and operations management through key performance indicators and participate in various ad hoc financial and IT-related projects.



Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Commissions and Spiffs Analysis:

  • Track and validate all payroll changes (new hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers) to ensure these changes are accurately factored into the monthly commission calculations.
  • Assist in preparing monthly commission statements, including those generated via our automated system or manually in Excel.
  • Support the processing, reporting, and analysis of commission payroll for monthly payouts, working with management to confirm accuracy and make adjustments as needed.
  • Research compensation issues or disputes and provide analysis to facilitate resolution.
  • Prepare monthly commission reconciliations and assist with other ad hoc reporting/analysis
  • Assist with annual commission contract and schedule administration.

 

Corporate Reporting and Analysis:

  • Assist with the implementation and automation of consolidated monthly reporting, including commentary in BI tools/systems, to provide post-close insights on notable variances and financial/non-financial KPIs.
  • Compile, analyze, and report financial, sales, and statistical data (such as sales, expenses, operating working capital, performance flash reporting, cash forecasting, capital expenditures, and operating statistics) from multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with department managers and senior staff to provide quantitative financial analysis of operational and financial data in support of strategic growth, including the creation of dashboards and ongoing reporting for future use.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct analysis and complete tasks with limited supervision, maintaining a solutions-oriented attitude when tackling new projects.

 

Other Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Take the initiative to collaborate with various business segments to identify ways the finance department can further support business needs, implementing related projects and reports as necessary for ongoing support.
  • Partner with management to plan and improve systems and processes, including expanding current BI tools for streamlined reporting.
  • Serve as a backup for other analyst responsibilities as directed by finance management.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance and various department managers on complex projects.
  • Work cooperatively with others and comply with all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Analytics   
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working knowledge of sales incentive compensation principles and related operational execution
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Staff Accountant or Financial Analyst, a plus
  • Advanced software skills in Microsoft Office, highly advanced skills in Excel 
  • Required experience building interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau to support business decision-making and/or actionable insights
  • Preferred experience with SAP and other similar data analytics ERPs
  • Preferred experience with any Sales Commissions Management software
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical problem solving ability
  • Ability to work as a team player and work in a deadline based environment
