Service Technician - Holden

Mingledorff's, Inc. Peachtree Corners, GA (Onsite) Full-Time

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for field service work within the service division of Holden and Associates, including administration tasks such as scheduling, proper filing and billing of Holden’s service work, as well as providing technical service and support to Holden and Associate’s employee and customer base. Additionally, this position must assure good dealer/customer relations in all matters pertaining to service of the products we represent.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical service training support, diagnostic assistance, and on-site start-ups and troubleshooting for customers as needed.
  • Provide assistance to mechanical contractors, owners, outside sales personnel and/or engineers during equipment start up and certifications. 
  • Conduct trainings to include all represented product lines to customers, engineers, end-users and or internal employees as needed. 
  • Ensure all start-up paperwork is properly recorded and submitted to both internal staff and manufacturers of respective equipment. 
  • Stay abreast of current installation and service practices and information applicable to equipment sold by Holden and Associates.
  • File warranty paperwork with manufacturers in a timely manner.  Work with office administrator on reimbursement for warranty service work. 
  • Ensure proper allocation and billing of job-related start-ups and field troubleshootings.
  • Develop working relationship with technical service and application groups at various manufacturers.  Provide timely feedback of product related issues as well as constructive feedback on product design and manufacture. 
  • Maintain Subject Matter Expert status on all company represented products

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree – Commercial Construction Science, Air Conditioning Technology, or a related field - preferred
  • EPA Certification - preferred
  • NATE certified - preferred
  • 2 years experience in the HVAC Industry - preferred
  • Advanced tool knowledge and use including, but not limited to: digital gauges; volt-amp-temperature-rpm meters; laptops; tablets; smart phones; phone apps; manometer; psychrometer; anemometers and knowledge and use of:  manufacturers’ specific tools, software, and websites; Microsoft Office psychrometric charts and other HVAC related calculators
  • Prior experience in commissioning HVAC products for laboratory, hospital and other regulated environments alongside other trades, a plus
  • Working knowledge of various service software offerings, a plus
  • Proficient Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Possess a satisfactory driving record as determined by Company Driver Policies
  • Qualify for and remain insurable under Company liability insurance policy
  • Qualify under federal and state regulations to drive the vehicle in question

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; lay on the floor; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee may work in environments as cold as 20 degrees or as hot as 105 degrees. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

  • Up to 50% travel to customers’ jobsites and offices - some requiring overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and trainings - some requiring extended stay
