Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Accounts Payable Specialist is to process accounts payable invoices and payments in a high-volume environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, research and process vendor invoices for prompt and accurate payments to include weekly disbursement.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and collect credit balances; modify invoices as needed
  • Research and resolve vendor issues and internal receiving problems
  • Code payable invoices with the correct general ledger account and prepare manual GL corrections as needed
  • Review source documents for proper approvals and sales/use taxes
  • Review payment batch and print AP checks
  • Provide front desk and phone coverage as scheduled/needed
  • Upload invoices into AP document storage system.
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Maintain regular, punctual and reliable physical attendance 
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Position may be remote, but requires regular physical attendance at meetings held at corporate office

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting/Business or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience which includes high volume Accounts Payables processing
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Proven record meeting deadlines

Travel Requirement:

  • 0% travel to branches and other operating companies requiring some overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
